Princess & Bear Wines was founded on curiosity, passion, and a deep love for Southern France. That spirit remains at the heart of everything we do, now guided by new owners Ioana Revnic and Hayden Grace-Lazzari, who are excited to carry the story forward while shaping what comes next.
The original “Princess & Bear,” Carol Bailey, a family law attorney, and Steve Medwell, a surgeon, discovered the Languedoc-Roussillon almost by accident. What they found was a wild, sun-soaked region in the midst of a winemaking renaissance: ancient vines, fearless winemakers, and wines full of character and value.
Captivated by the culture, landscapes, food, and people, they made it their mission to share this extraordinary corner of France with American wine lovers. For years, Carol and Steve have served as the passionate importers behind Princess & Bear, bringing wines that tell authentic stories of land, weather, and human hands. That foundation continues today.
Ioana Revnic joined Princess & Bear in 2018 and has grown alongside the business ever since. A French wine scholar with a deep knowledge of the Languedoc and beyond, Ioana has tasted, studied, and shared these wines for years, guiding guests through the nuances of grape varieties, regions, and producers with both expertise and warmth. Her connection to the wines and the growers runs deep, making her a natural steward of the Princess & Bear vision.
Hayden Grace-Lazzari came on board in 2024, bringing a strong background in customer service and hospitality. Hayden’s focus is simple but powerful: creating a space where people feel genuinely welcome, comfortable, and excited to explore wine, whether they’re seasoned enthusiasts or just beginning their journey.
Together, Ioana and Hayden are reimagining the tasting room as a wine bar and bottle shop – a relaxed, inviting place to linger over a glass, discover something new, and take home a bottle you love. Their goal is to blend the depth and storytelling that Princess & Bear is known for with an approachable, neighborhood-wine-bar feel with thoughtful pours, curated selections, and a sense of community.
While Carol and Steve continue as the importers, sourcing the wines that have always defined Princess & Bear, Ioana and Hayden are focused on the experience by bringing the wines to life in a way that feels modern, social, and joyful. Every bottle still carries the untamed spirit of the Languedoc-Roussillon. Every visit is an invitation to slow down, explore, and connect.
